Tracey Hargreaves is the founding director of the Michigan Youth Teaching Rodeo Association (MYTRA), a program dedicated to passing down the traditions and values of rodeo to the next generation. Her journey began in 2016 when, alongside mentor Lonnie Clementshaw, they launched the RCYRA, which evolved into MYTRA in 2020.  A lifelong rodeo enthusiast, Tracey started out as a rodeo photographer and devoted fan. Growing up, she attended countless rodeos as a spectator and even briefly tried her hand at barrel racing—ultimately deciding she preferred staying on the horse. As a mother, she was fortunate to be part of a rodeo family that helped teach her own children the ropes. However, she quickly realized there were limited opportunities in Michigan for other youth to access that same guidance.  Motivated by the desire to create a space where all kids could learn the sport, and with encouragement from seasoned rodeo veterans and the steady support of Lonnie Clementshaw, Tracey helped bring the vision of a youth teaching rodeo to life. Today, under her leadership, MYTRA continues to grow—empowering young riders with the skills, values, and community that define the rodeo way of life.

Chuck Hargreaves is one of the founding board members of the Michigan Youth Teaching Rodeo Association (MYTRA) and has remained its most dedicated and generous sponsor since the beginning. Through his company, Home Exterior Restoration Experts, Chuck has consistently gone above and beyond—purchasing essential equipment, donating the use of the association’s equipment trailer, and providing unmatched financial support year after year.  Though not raised in the rodeo world, Chuck was “voluntold” he’d be part of the youth rodeo—an assignment he embraced wholeheartedly. After marrying into a rodeo family, he quickly found a passion for the sport and has become one of its strongest supporters, especially when it comes to his kids, who have thrived in the arena under his quiet but unwavering encouragement.  Chuck tried his hand at bull riding for a while until he was injured in a car accident in 2011 when he was ran off the road by a drunk driver.  He broke his neck in the accident and was never supposed to walk again.  The decision was made that his Rodeo days were over at that point even though he would get back on if his wife would let him.   You may not always see Chuck front and center, but he’s always there—behind the scenes flipping burgers in the cookshack, making sure the show runs smoothly, and ensuring MYTRA continues to grow and thrive. His commitment, both personally and professionally, has been a cornerstone of the association’s success.

Known lovingly by all as “Grandma,” Linda Stebelton has been an irreplaceable part of the Michigan Youth Teaching Rodeo Association (MYTRA) since day one. While she may have started as a proud spectator cheering on her grandkids, she quickly became the heart of the association—volunteering countless hours to feed and care for the entire rodeo family.  Every weekend, Grandma Linda is behind the scenes making it all happen. From shopping and prepping to cooking and serving, she ensures no one goes hungry—and no child goes without a ring pop, even if all they have is three pennies and a pocket full of lint. Her dedication, generosity, and endless energy are the glue that holds the cookshack (and spirits) together.  At over 70 years young, Linda’s impact is unmatched. Always smiling, always welcoming, and always ready to lend a helping hand, she’s a beacon of support for the kids and the entire MYTRA community. Simply put, we wouldn’t know what to do without her.

Chance Stebelton – Executive Board Member & Behind-the-Scenes guy.  Chance Stebelton began his journey with the Michigan Youth Teaching Rodeo Association (MYTRA) as a participant, testing his grit in the bull riding arena. While he soon discovered he made a far better rodeo clown than cowboy, his love for the sport—and more importantly, the kids—never wavered.  Though you may not see him in the arena as often these days, Chance remains a vital part of the MYTRA executive board. Now a full-time graduate student pursuing his master’s degree in psychology, Chance brings a fresh, modern perspective to the organization’s leadership. His insight, empathy, and behind-the-scenes administrative work have been crucial in keeping MYTRA running smoothly and adapting to the evolving needs of our rodeo families.  Chance’s heart for helping kids and his continued commitment to the association make him an indispensable member of the MYTRA family—even if his clown shoes are collecting a little dust.
